Workshop: Building Intelligent Payment Regulations

In Africa, the lack of integrated payment systems is regularly cited by business leaders as a barrier to trade, and to the construction of a truly integrated continent-wide market. With technological investments in this field mushrooming, and with an increasing number of consumers making use of digital payment tools, regulators and operators must work together to design suitable and harmonized regulations with the objective of building a homogeneous payment system, reducing Africa’s very high transaction costs, and making intra-African payments easier.

Objective: to establish a roadmap for the development of the sector, to be addressed to regulators and the banking industry.

Participants: Bankers, regulators, payment service providers, regional representatives of payment institutions.

Expert: Ngozi Chidozie, Partner, FS Strategy and Digital, Management Consulting, KPMG Nigeria.
